Silver Spring resident Torrey Moore, who is accused of gunning down 61-year-old Ayalew Wondimu and murdering his eight-month-pregnant girlfriend, was denied bail in his latest court appearance on Tuesday, Dec. 13, according to multiple reports.
According to police, officers investigating the Thursday, Dec. 8 murder of Wondimu at the Shell Station (Dash In Convenience Store) in the 11100 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring were able to identify Moore as their prime suspect.
After the initial investigation led detectives to identify Moore as their guy, investigators executed a search warrant at his nearby Silver Spring apartment, where they found the decomposing body inside of a 26-year-old woman who was pregnant.
It remains unclear how long the body was in the Silver Spring apartment.
At the time, Moore advised that he had been in a relationship with that woman, who was eight months pregnant when she died. Investigators have still not released the woman's name, citing the need to notify her family and to confirm her DNA.
Moore was initially charged only with Wondimu's murder, but has since been charged with the murder of the woman and her unborn child.
